Spicy Lemon Pepper Chicken Fry is a vibrant and flavorful dish that combines the bright, tangy taste of lemon with the spicy kick of black pepper. The chicken is typically seasoned with fresh lemon juice, chili paste and pepper seasoning, creating a bold and zesty coating. When cooked, the chicken becomes tender and juicy, with a crispy, golden-brown exterior. The lemon and pepper flavors infuse the meat, offering a perfect balance of freshness and heat.

Ingredients:

1 kg chicken (preferable big size)
1 tablespoon lemon juice
10-15 Green chili (to increase the spicy level)
1 tablespoon black pepper powder
1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon garam masala powder
1/2 teaspoon jeera powder
A pinch of black salt (optional)
A pinch of grated Nutmeg
Salt to taste
1 tablespoon curd (yogurt) (optional, for tenderness)
2 tablespoons oil (vegetable or any cooking oil)
Fresh coriander leaves (for garnish)

Instructions:

Marinate the chicken:
In a frying pan add oil once heated add green chilies saute for a while by covering lid to avoid splitting of green chilies. In a mixer jar add peppercorn make a fine powder now add fried green chilies and curd make a smooth paste.
In a mixing bowl, combine the chicken pieces with chili, peppercorn paste along with turmeric, garam masala, lemon juice, ginger-garlic paste, salt, nutmeg and black salt
Mix well to ensure the chicken is evenly coated with the marinade. Let it sit for at least 1 -2 hour (the longer, the better).

Fry the chicken:
Heat oil in a large pan or skillet over medium heat.
Once the oil is hot, add the marinated chicken pieces to the pan.
Cook the chicken on medium heat by covering the lid without adding any water for 10mins
Now remove the lid Fry the chicken for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until it becomes crispy and golden brown.

Serve:
Once the chicken is cooked and crispy, Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and and serve hot.

Tips:
Adjust the amount of black pepper and green chili based on your preference for spice.
For extra crunch, you can coat the chicken in a light dusting of corn flour before frying.
Serve it with a side of rice, salad, or naan for a complete meal.
