This is a favorite song, from a favorite free spirit and true iconoclast, who's married to another Iowa boy (Greg Brown), that I put together because I needed to.
There was plenty of grumbling by purists over how political her "The Way I Should" CD was, but it wasn't coming from me. She beautifully restores the good name of DeMent, no matter how you spell it.
