Dirt Devil Ultra Vision Turbo Upright Vacuum.

Here I’m showing is something that really surprised me a lot. This used to be my aunt’s vacuum which I thought I wasn’t ever going to see again. My aunt bought this shortly after she bought the white Oreck XL Classic when her and my uncle divorced. I’m not sure if she got it to replace her Oreck if she was going to return it, or if she bought it as a secondary vacuum for either the kids to vacuum the house at the same time or she also needed something that was bagless and that had attachments on-board, or she just didn’t wanted to carry the Oreck up and down the stairs a lot. I’ve only been to her house a few times and I was able to vacuum her house a couple times with this. My first surprise with this was that one time I came over to her house, the dirt cup was COMPLETELY full! Not only did it still ran but it still had power through the hose! The second surprise was a few years ago when I was talking to one of my cousins, I asked out of curiosity if they still had that same Oreck and Dirt Devil. At first I was expecting to hear that the Oreck is still there but the Dirt Devil would be gone but nope, the Oreck was gone but the Dirt Devil was still there! What happened was is that they traded in the Oreck for another one. I’ve never seen what one they had gotten but basically from what my cousin described and by looking at the pictures, it was a Magnesium and I’m pretty sure it was their darker model. But a year ago, I once again chatted with my cousin and asked the same questions. They were both recently traded in with another vacuum that they now have which is a red Riccar SupraLite Premium R10P plus the Hoover PowerPet Drive that my cousin just brought in with them. So that’s when I was convinced that I was never going to see this again and that would’ve been the end of the story. However a couple weeks ago, I got a text from my cousin after he and his wife moved back in with my aunt showing me a picture that they had found this in storage! I was just super shocked and glad that I didn’t get the other Ultra Vision Turbo from the thrift store I saw a while ago. I immediately asked if it had still worked because if so, I was going to offer of cleaning this up in exchange for a YouTube video since I never knew when would be the last time I’ll ever see this again before knowing I’d miss my chance again of taping it. But he got back with me saying that there are rips with wires showing from the cord so he didn’t think it was safe for them to use this anymore so they were going to at first get rid of it but he did also asked if I wanted it instead. Of course, you know what I did. So he finally dropped it off to me. I took this completely apart, cleaned it up, and got a new belt and filter for it since I’m pretty sure they were original to the machine. I also did put in electrical tape on the cord since I wanted to keep it original. Other than that, it looks and runs amazing! I didn’t put lube on the turbo brush, I should’ve so that explains why it was screaming in the video. It is missing the wand and crevice tool, I asked my cousin to be on the lookout for them if he ever finds them at their place but I could care less about it anyways. I remember when my cousin first told me that they had just gotten a Dirt Devil, I thought at first it was that Swivel Glide Vision I did a video on last fall because he told me that it was blue and it was the only blue Dirt Devil I’ve seen at Target when my grandparents picked up their red Dirt Devil Jaguar almost the same time when my aunt bought her Dirt Devil. Anyways, this vacuum was a huge surprise for me, it’s very rare to see a cheap low-cost machine like this to last for almost 20 years, but I guess to be fair this might’ve not been used for the last few years or so. Not only it lasted for a long time but just yesterday, I did a video of the Sanitaire S663 Type B and I vacuumed this same carpet again today with my Kirby Ultimate G as we’ve been opening up our windows lately for cool air breeze to come in. This even picked up dust and pollen that both the Sanitaire and the Kirby should’ve easily picked up! I knew they both weren’t deep cleaners but I didn’t think they were that bad of picking up the surface dirt on top. This vacuum is a good example of why I don’t use direct air machines to clean my whole house anymore. And of course I remembered this did cleaned better than the Oreck which was also a direct air machine. Overall, definitely a good machine. My only complaints though is that it is loud, the hose could have more power, and there’s no post filter so this is absolutely not HEPA rated. There was also another childhood moment with this machine, one of my classmates had one of these when I stayed over at his house for overnight, but I’ve never used it.

Hope you enjoyed!
