In this video, I break down each study and yes... all six projects do use mice that receive hormone treatments to mimic transgender physiology, yet the larger goal is to address real-world questions about HIV prevention, cancer therapy, fertility, bone growth, reproductive hormones, and asthma—critical health issues not just for transgender individuals but often for cisgender people too.

So, was Trump’s claim technically true? The researchers do administer hormones to mice that replicate human transgender hormone therapy. But if that’s all you see, you’re missing the point. These grants aren’t spent frivolously on “turning mice transgender.” They fund essential studies into how hormone therapies work, aiming to fill the huge gaps in knowledge about trans healthcare.
