His attorney argued that severe, untreated mental health conditions — including bipolar disorder, depression, and ADHD — prevented him from complying with probation and drug court requirements.

His grandmother testified on his behalf, saying: ‘We’ve been telling him for years that he needs help. Give him a chance!’

But the judge pointed out that Allen had already been sent to felony drug court — with a dual-diagnosis program designed to help with both addiction and mental health — and still went missing for years.

In the end, the court sentenced him to 3 years in prison, despite pleas for leniency.
