Panasonic HC-V800 camcorder test footage

Описание к видео Panasonic HC-V800 camcorder test footage

As mentioned in the video, I barely found any actual footage of people using the Pansonic HC-V800 camcorder, so I made some of my own to hopefully help anyone else researching this camera.

It should be noted: The camera only records up to 1080p 60FPS but I render my edited videos in 1440p in an attempt to cheese YouTube's bitrates to assign the video a higher default bitrate. We don't know for sure what the limits are, or what they allow and assign to each video... but I swear that by my eyes doing this looks better than uploading in just 1080p. Their online guide recommends 1080p 60FPS videos be rendered at only 15Mbps, but for 1440p 60FPS videos they say 24Mbps. That's all we know, their recommendations.

The V800 can record in a quite high 50Mbps bitrate, MP4 format (or AVCHD at 28Mbps if desired). That 50Mbps is what I used here. I then rendered the video down to 35Mbps average variable bitrate, with a maximum set to 50Mbps in Magix Movie Studio 15. So I am already rendered OVER their recommended bitrate for 1440p/60fps video.

I made the cheapo furry windscreen because camcorders always have wind issues, and even this one with it's so-called "windscreen" labeled on top is just a tiny rim of plastic around the microphone (if you're researching this cam, you've seen it in pics)... I implore anyone with any camcorder do this little mod. The faux fur from a craft store was like $5 for a pre made little sheet, and I just cut a square out and double sided taped it on top of the mic. It's the same concept pro audio guys use on their shotgun mics that they affectionately call the "dead cat" furry wind screen.

The Polarizing filter should not change much about the picture here if anyone was worried. You will see me play with it in the video. It acts just like sunglasses do for our eyes, and helps cut down certain reflections, which helps bring out some color on plants or the sky. Overall these scenes would look largely the same without it, only when I look straight down at the water can I even tell how I'm adjusting it.
