This time, I’ve re-edited one of my older resin videos — the making of a piece I named “Drops of Sky” — with English subtitles added.

I’d be so happy if you could feel the same sense of excitement I get while creating.
I’m completely self-taught when it comes to resin, so I hope you’ll take this as just a little glimpse into “how I do it” — nothing too serious!

Also, while I’ve shared similar process videos in the past, I’m constantly experimenting and evolving, so my methods may change from video to video. Thanks for your understanding!

The story behind “Drops of Sky”

There’s a beautiful view of the evening sky from my window.
It shifts in color moment by moment — so fleeting, so fragile — and I often find myself reaching for my phone to capture it.

Though I can’t avoid things like power lines and poles in the frame, I still edit the colors carefully, always watching the sky as I go.
Little by little, these images started to fill up my camera roll.

I’ve long dreamed of recreating that kind of sky — with those colors — inside a piece of resin with a flower floating in it.

But pairing vivid colors with flowers is tricky… it’s hard to find the right balance.
It took time and many trials before I finally settled on a simple design:
a white lace flower, placed in a teardrop mold.

For the background, I used real photos of the sky I’d taken as a reference,
and created a soft sky-colored gradient.

The finished piece is simple, but depending on how you look at it,
the white lace flower might resemble a dandelion puff floating across the sky…
or even a burst of fireworks in the evening light.

From another angle, it looks like a completely clear drop of resin,
with a tiny flower and a sunset sky reflected inside.

I didn’t give this piece any strict “meaning” —
I hope each person who sees it can imagine their own story.

Shiny, plump, and ever-changing depending on the angle —
this is how “Drops of Sky” came to be.
