Getting their Bankais stolen by the Quincies, Urahara stayed in Hueco Mundo to fine a way to get back the stolen Bankais. With Mayuri's help (even though all they did was legit staying in the room to avoid Quincies's shadows), both have figured out that one if a Quincy absorb/take Hollow powers, their own power would be corrupt (which is anime only lines).
