Islands on Foot: Walking Around Burrow Island (Rat Island), Gosport

I am intrigued by the idea of islands that are only islands at high tide. Let's take a walk from Gosport, out across a natural shingle causeway, and around Burrow Island.
I will not be venturing onto the dry part of the island, as it is the property of the Ministry of Defence, and access is forbidden, but we can walk all the way around it on the foreshore, which is part of the Crown Estate and is accessible to the public (although as we will see, it's not exactly easy).
