Billy Cotton and his Band - The Glory Of Love 1936

Описание к видео Billy Cotton and his Band - The Glory Of Love 1936

There wouldn't be British Dance Music without Billy Cotton. Period. I am in love with this orchestra, and so has been his audience over decades. I have so many Billy Cotton favorites that I had a hard time picking a tune to showcase here as the first Billy Cotton record on my channel.

Well, here is one that I really can listen to over and over - "The Glory of Love", written by Billy Hill and made famous, again, by Gracie Fields in 1936.

I don't know what it is about this tune; maybe it is this slow rhythm, the arrangement with the sighing saxophones and the cymbal just at the right time, or maybe it is Alan Breeze's singing. Of course the marvelous studio and the great sound of the band also make it so remarkable. Well, you decide for your yourself. If you don't like this particular tune, then there will be many more and other titles to come pretty soon!
