Not everyone knows that foreign citizens can drive a car in Turkey with a driver's license of their country for only 6 months. But what to do next? That's what our new video is about. Let's go!

So, you are in Turkey for more than 180 days and in order to drive a car you will have to exchange your country's driver's license for a Turkish one.
More precisely, to obtain a Turkish-style certificate on their basis. This is done in 2 stages. First you need to go to NUFUS – a state organization for work with the population.

Nufus is located in every district of the city. For example, in Antalya there are three of them, you need to go to the one to which the address of your residence belongs.

You need to have the following documents with you:
1 color copy of IKAMET
1 color copy of foreign driver's license
1 color copy of the passport

Certified translation of a foreign driver's license into Turkish
1 biometric color photo
And, of course, all this should be accompanied by an application with a request to replace the foreign driver's license with a Turkish one (a sample will be given on the spot).

Then you just have to wait... A request will be sent to your country to verify the authenticity of the driver's license, this may take from 1 to 3 months.

As soon as the answer from your country is received, you can submit the second part of the documents:
certified translation of the document on education
medical certificate of health (done in any hospital)
original foreign driver's license
receipt of payment of the state fee (can be paid in Nufus)
1 biometric color photo
The documents that you submitted at the beginning will be handed over to you. To these documents, you add the ones just listed and get in line in Nufus for a driver's license. The employee who will receive the documents will also scan your fingerprints.

He will pick up your foreign driver's license, which will be sent to your country – It will wait for you there.
After that, you will be asked to go to pay the state fee, then they will issue a temporary driver's license. It gives the right to drive a vehicle for one month. During this time, the main driver's license for a period of 10 years will be sent to your address by mail. Now you can drive any car for 10 years that fits your driving category!

Approximate cost:
translation of documents 2 times – 50 TL each.
certification by a notary 2 times – 150 TL each.
color copies – 5 TL
medical certificate – 60 TL
biometric photos – 20 TL
state fee for category “B” – 1000 TL
Total – about 1500 TL or 150 TL per year in terms of the duration of the driver's license.
