Delhi's electricity commission plans to ensure that citizens get paid a penalty by power companies whenever there is a power cut or load shedding. According to the proposal a penalty will be imposed on private power providers for power outages. The penalty has been fixed by new notification and from now onwards load shedding for more than two hours will not be allowed. If Power providers don't comply, they will have to give every consumers 50 rupees per hour for first two hours and then 100 rupees per hour for subsequent load shedding.
