Underworld Rise of the Lycans movie reaction, review, & commentary

Guys, I'm so sad. I mean I'm happy that we've made it to the best movie (IMO) of the Underworld franchise, but this is also where we get off the bus.

Michael Sheen brought that stellar A-game he had in Underworld back for this one and made the whole movie top tier. Viktor, love him or hate him, was also a great addition to the list of characters.

The story, for those unfamiliar, is similar to the one from Underworld, where a Vampire falls in love with a Werewolf (Lycan) in a universe where the two are mortal enemies. Though in Rise of the Lycans, not so much enemies as the Lycans are slaves. Lucian, the first of his breed of Lycan leads a rebellion after his Vampire lady friend Sonja is killed by her heartless father.

I don't know about anyone else, but I was whole heartedly rooting for a retcon in this movie. I so badly wanted Lucian to have not died in Underworld and for Sonja to somehow be alive.
