Lough Erne shore recorded over looking the stunning Glenade Lough Co. Leitrim.

I first came across this song when listening to Paul Bradys and Andy Irvines self titled 1975 album. An excellent record that has helped shape Irish folk music into what it has become today.

The song tells a story of a man wandering alone at dawn when suddenly appears in his sigh the most beautiful maiden. After hearing her singing he is love stuck and says "Oh, Take me to your habitation for cupid has led me astray". Hup ya boy ya! The song never concludes but here's hoping it all worked out between them.

A bit of Irish mythology for ye, there are tales of the "Dobharchú", a water monster, that belongs to the dark waters of Glenade lake. Inscriptions on the gravestone of Grainne Ni Conalaican be found nearby where it is believed the monster took her life back in 1722.
