After the events of the previous part, Terra along with Locke and Edgar head for Mt. Koltz. Once they reach further, they encounter someone named Vargas. Earlier, they learn that he is the son of Duncan, Sabin's master.

Vargas has two Bears with him. Focus on the Bears first then take on Vargas. Have Terra switch between healing and attacking while Edgar and Locke attack. After a bit, Sabin shows up and Vargas uses a Blizzard Fist to send everyone away. Now you need to defeat Vargas by using the Raging Fist. The combination is Left, Right, Left. That's it and once you do that, he goes down.

Sabin's gimmick is the Blitz attack and you need to use button inputs to do so. He has access to Raging Fist, Aura Cannon and Meteor Strike. As he levels up, he gains new Blitz moves.

Later on they reach the Returners Base and Terra takes the time to figure out what she should do. Eventually she decides to join the fight but that won't matter cause now they are on the move. The Empire has found them and they got to press on.
