Kia and Genesis 2.0 T-GDi engine (G4KL): Problems and durability

In this video, I will tell you about the 2.0 turbo GDI engine used in the Kia Stinger and also Genesis G70 and G80. This is the G4KL engine used in rear-drive cars. It’s the 2-liter turbocharged monster producing a lot of power and high torque for fun driving.

But you should understand the common problems that owners have to deal with in this engine. I will cover chain issues, carbon buildup, problems with the high-pressure fuel pump, and also other pretty common issues that you need to know about if you own such an engine or are going to buy a car powered with it.

Also, please bear in mind that you should change oil more often than Kia or Genesis recommends. The standard interval is bad and leads to oil contamination and other issues that may kill your engine much earlier than you think.
