Описание к видео MP2002-478 Former President Truman Talks About Generating Power in the Middle East

In this Screen Gems outtake, former president Harry S. Truman describes a plan, while standing in front of a screen with a map of the Middle East, to pump the Mediterranean Sea into the Dead Sea as a source of power. In Iraq, he studied the Tigris and Euphrates River Valley as a potential place for the settlement of people. Old canals could be used to put the rivers to work, like in the days of Ninevah and Babylon. A survey was completed by the Tennessee Valley Authority.
