From Small Things: Episode 10: In The Basting Room

Welcome back!

This week's topics are thread basting, a finished quilt, and two new scrap busting projects.

First, I show my process for thread basting a quilt on the floor-- using my special broom tip! I'll show you how I do this step of the process, with some tips and things to keep in mind throughout the basting process.

Next: I have a finish! The blue and white nine patch and snowball block quilt is finished. This was a vintage quilt top I purchased at a sale this year. I thought I'd share my other two quilts, which I purchased as tops from sales and finished. One is another blue and white, a bear paw with an endearing error; the other is a printed nursery quilt with embroidery and applique.

I have also been working on managing scraps-- as always! For my 2" scraps, I have chosen a Bonnie Hunter pattern called the Carolina Chain block. For my 1 1/2" scraps, I'm putting together little Plus blocks. These will be made as scraps accumulate, over time.
