Good news for independent candidate Mahabir Pun as support continues to grow in the Myagdi parliamentary election.

In a major political development, the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) candidate Yuvraj Roka has announced his full support for Mahabir Pun, calling him a guardian figure and stating that supporting him is a matter of pride. Although Roka has not formally withdrawn his candidacy, he has made his campaign inactive in favor of Pun.

On the same day, the Ujyalo Nepal Party led by Kulman Ghising also issued an official statement endorsing Mahabir Pun. Additionally, the National Republic Nepal Party candidate Tul Prasad Garbuja announced the withdrawal of his candidacy to support Pun.

Mahabir Pun, who entered the race unexpectedly after resigning from his ministerial position just before nomination day, has become a unifying figure in Myagdi. Known for his simple lifestyle and grassroots approach, Pun is campaigning door-to-door without luxury vehicles or large entourages—setting him apart from traditional party candidates.

As smaller and emerging parties rally behind him, public pressure is mounting on major parties like UML and Nepali Congress to follow suit. Many observers believe Mahabir Pun is heading toward a historic, consensus-backed victory.
