South Korea's shipbuilders won more orders last month than any other country, beating out China.
For the first six months in total, China was still on top, but that could change in the second half of the year if high-value orders keep coming in.

South Korea's shipbuilders won more orders than those of any other country in June this year.
Data from the UK-based Clarkson Research Services showed on Tuesday that the total volume of orders received by South Korean firms in June was 1-point-82 million compensated gross tonnage, or CGT, for 40 vessels, making up 44 percent of the world's total orders.
Korea was followed by China with 1-point-57 million CGT and Japan with 300 thousand CGT in June.
CGT is an indicator of the amount of work that is necessary to build different types of vessels.
The total volume of the global ship orders in the first six months of this year reached its highest level since 2014, surging 192 percent.
Korea won orders equivalent to 10-point-47 million CGT, increasing by seven times compared to the same period last year.
The stellar performance was largely due to South Korea's dominance in high-value vessels.
It won the 100 percent of LNG carrier orders, 82 percent of oil tankers and 72 percent of LPG carriers.
Chinese companies still top the rankings for the first six months of the year with accumulated orders of 10-point-59 CGT, taking up around 44 percent of total global orders.
However, with the gap between Korea and China,… only 120 thousand CGT , or point-five percent of global orders, South Korea's shipbuilders are hoping strong orders in the second half of the year will push them ahead of China.
