This film was produced for 29 Acres, a nonprofit organization focused on supporting young adults on the autism spectrum as they transition out of high school and into independent living. Originally created for a private fundraising gala, the piece was designed to communicate the organization’s mission, programs, and impact through a grounded, human-centered approach.

The project was built around a series of sit-down interviews with both program participants and staff members, captured in familiar, lived-in environments that reflect daily life at 29 Acres. The interview structure was intentionally conversational, allowing subjects to speak naturally about their experiences, responsibilities, and growth within the program. These moments form the backbone of the film, guiding the narrative without relying on scripted messaging.

Visually, the production balances composed interview framing with observational b-roll captured throughout the campus. These supporting moments were filmed to quietly reinforce the story being told—daily routines, shared spaces, and interactions that show how the program functions in practice. Camera movement and shot selection were kept intentional and unobtrusive, prioritizing clarity and continuity over spectacle.

From a technical standpoint, the project required careful planning around lighting, sound, and pacing to ensure consistency across multiple interview setups while maintaining a cohesive visual tone. The edit was structured to feel measured and respectful, allowing moments to breathe while still maintaining forward momentum suitable for a live gala audience.

In post-production, emphasis was placed on clean audio, natural color, and pacing that supports comprehension and emotional resonance. The final film was delivered as a single long-form piece intended to play uninterrupted in a live event setting, where it served as both an introduction to the organization and a reflection of its values.
