I had to put my theory to the test and I was satisfied with the results. Faber Castell Albercht Durer pencils feel and perform almost identical to the Polychromos in dry form, the differences between them so far seem minimal, but If I had to pick one of the two for layering and blending without the use of solvents or water, I would choose the Polychromos. The best way to be able to tell of course is by actually drawing with them so I guess I will be doing that very soon.
