Exploring North Lombok | What is there to do in Senaru? (Not Rinjani)

We are on a road trip around Lombok, and one of our first stops is Senaru 🙌🏼. What exactly is there to do in North Lombok? What is there to do in Senaru? Is Senaru worth visiting?

We spent a few days in the north of Lombok and explored the surrounding area. On thi9s trip we didn't climb Mt Rinjani...that's something we are going to do in the future. So Mt Rinjani aside, is there anything else to do in Senaru? Turns out there is!

Senaru is full of some really incredible nature, and the best waterfalls that you can find in all of Lombok 😍. If you are planning a trip to Lombok and are wondering whether to make your wat to North Lombok then check out this vlog as see all the things you can expect to find there. We loved it 🙌🏼

One thing was disapointing, and that was when we visited a beach in the North. We expected to find a beautiful black sand beach lined with palm trees that looks out onto a beautiful calm ocean. We found most of those things, the only issue was the that beautiful black sand beach was covered in trash. We obviously didn't recommend this beach in our vlog, but we didn't shy away from the fact it was there either. We don't want to stop you visiting the North, but maybe save your beach expectations for the south...because they have so many incredible beaches. We wanted to look into organisations that help with trash collection and education in Lombok, and we found somewhere amazing here: https://classroomofhope.org/

Classroom of Hope are helping to educate the local people in Indonesia about plastic pollution. They have even helped to create an entire school out of blocks made from recycled plastic, right here in Lombok!
