To update your PlayStation 4 (PS4) using a USB drive, follow these steps:

Visit the official PlayStation website to download the latest system software update file (PS4 update file). Make sure to download the appropriate update file for your PS4 model.

On your computer, create a new folder named "PS4" (without the quotes) on the root directory of the USB drive.

Inside the "PS4" folder, create another folder named "UPDATE" (again, without the quotes).

Copy the downloaded PS4 update file (usually named "PS4UPDATE.PUP") into the "UPDATE" folder on your USB drive.

Safely eject the USB drive from your computer.
