Jeep 2.5L engine knock fixed

After continueous research, I was able to fix the engine knocking. I knew I either had broken piston skirts or bad lifters. Or maybe both. Was going to do removal of serpentine belt diagnosis and also drop oil pan to check for broken metal pieces but decided to do something simpler first instead. I removed a quart of oil and poured in a quart of ATF. Drove around for less than half a mile, and the knocking disappeared.

In conclusion, I believe I had sticky lifters probably b/c this Jeep was just sitting for years without starting.
