A Tale of Two Traditions - A Baithak in Hyderabad - Raag Jaijaivanti, Puriyadhanashri, Hamsadhwani

Accompanied by Vivek Kayal on Tabla and Upkar Godbole on Harmonium. My students Vikash Kumar and Trijoy Pal are on Tanpura and Vocal Support.

This concert is unique where I cover the Carnatic Equivalents of Jaijaivanti, (Dwijavanti), Puriya Dhanashri (Pantuvarali) and Hamsadhwani as well and demonstrate the subtle differences!

The icing on the cake was the audience which was an amazingly sensitive one, spellbound until the very end. Listening in rapturous attention, they truly became one with the music. It was an unforgettable experience performing for them - you can see glimpses during this video.

I thoroughly enjoyed performing Jaijaivanti, Puriya Dhanashri, Hamsadhwani, and Tilak Kamod. Each piece felt like a shared journey with everyone present.
