Southworth 12 Steam Pump Optimization, Steel Spring Application

Описание к видео Southworth 12 Steam Pump Optimization, Steel Spring Application

The Southworth 12 inch Steam Pump was optimized for rapid water pumping against the boiler pressure at higher steam pressure (25-75 psi). The higher the pressure, the greater the regulatory range of the pump. The widest range was observed around 65 psi and higher. This is the pressure range where most of the water is required in order to generate enough steam and an automatic water supply is very convenient. The original valve spring was replaced by a stronger version and adapted in lenght considering the needs of AMPHORA.
Pumping Frequencies with filled pump (Water Cylinder Volume 20 ml):
75 psi: minimal frequence=0.25 per sec (0.3 liter/minute) / highest frequence=2.5 (3 liter/minute)
50 psi minimal frequence=0.5 per sec (0.6 liter/minute) / highest frequence=2 (2.4 liter/minute)
25 psi minimal frequence=1.0 per sec (1.2 liter/minute) / highest frequence=1.5 (1.8 liter/minute)
20 psi lowest working pressure=1.5 sec (1.8 liter/minute)...
