In this calculus math example, we algebraically evaluate a limit of an expression. To do so, we first evaluate the expression by evaluating at the value our variable is approaching. Because we get 0/0, we continue our quest.

Next, we take our time and expand the numerator completely, then combine like terms. This gives us a terms that have a common factor. The common factor is factored out of each term. The result has a common factor between the numerator and denominator that are simplified to get our problem to lowest terms. (This is allowed because we are taking a limit.) The resulting expression is then evaluated at the value our variable is approaching and we have our result of the limit.
