Haeinsa Temple and Koreana Tripitaka - UNESCO World Heritage Site

Описание к видео Haeinsa Temple and Koreana Tripitaka - UNESCO World Heritage Site

Haeinsa Temple is a beautiful and fascinating UNESCO World Heritage Site. The largest and most important Buddhist monastery in Korea, it's also home to one of the world's most incredible cultural artifacts: the Koreana Tripitaka. The Koreana Tripitaka is collection of the Tripitaka, the Buddhist scriptures, carved in Chinese into an immense collection of 84,000 woodblocks. The work dates back to the 13th century, and sits in a purpose-built storage facility at Haeinsa Temple. Although you aren't allowed to see the original woodblocks themselves as they're too precious, we were able to stay overnight at the temple, meditating, praying and eating with the monks, and doing various activities related to the Tripitaka. Let's check it out!
