Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is set to meet with PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari at 4 PM today at the Prime Minister’s House to address rising tensions within the ruling coalition over the federal budget for 2024-25. The PPP and PML-N have been clashing over financial legislation at both the federal level and in Punjab. Bilawal plans to express his party’s concerns directly, particularly their exclusion from the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) budget. PPP lawmaker Shazia Marri highlighted that the PML-N has sidelined the PPP, straying from their post-election agreement. The PPP's absence from the National Assembly’s budget session on June 12 signaled their discontent. Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar had to personally persuade Bilawal to participate, resulting in only three PPP MNAs attending. This meeting is crucial as Bilawal aims to address the grievances and ensure their concerns are heard.
