Romeo and Juliet Fantasy Suite (2013 Version)

Описание к видео Romeo and Juliet Fantasy Suite (2013 Version)

This is my compilation of Abel Korzeniowski's score to the 2013 film Romeo & Juliet. Listed below are the tracks I used, in order.

1 - Juliet's Dream (0:00) (This film relied heavily on this theme and it always sounded honest on the piano, as if it was Juliet's instrument all along. I don't recall a dream in the film but I will attribute this theme as Juliet's.)

2 - Forbidden Love (3:39) (I had originally intended to play this at the close of the suite because I found the music that brought the film to a close as too much but it works better as a transitional piece here. It is safe to say the ascending strings in this track make up the love theme of the film.)

3 - Queen Mab (5:11) (A transitional piece featuring heavy piano, this sets the stage for the ball that ensnares our star-crossed lovers onto their inevitable end.)

4 - A Thousand Times Goodnight (6:21) (I opted for a lush statement of their love in the closing of their first night together. You hear the ascending theme again but you also hear their theme for the first time. It resides in a minor chord until you hear it ring triumphantly toward the end of its statement.)

5 - Tempt Not A Desperate Man (8:20) (This is the lead-up to the final scenes of the film, a duel between Paris and Romeo. I included none of the music from their battle as I felt the urgency of getting to Juliet was more important.)

6 - The Crypt, Part 1 (9:44) (This score accompanies the drinking of the poison and Juliet's awakening and goes right into...)

7 - The Crypt, Part 2 (10:46) (Juliet's death, a tragic retelling of their theme as the love theme is now gone, as if that theme was needed to bring theme together but now, only their theme remains as their love transcended beyond the physical.)

8 - Eternal Love (12:46) (This music accompanies the burial of Romeo and Juliet in a crypt together. One final announcement of the theme with soprano background as if this theme became tangible for everyone in the crypt with them.)

I do not own copyright on any of the music from Romeo & Juliet, only ownership of this suite. Purchase Romeo & Juliet by Abel Korzeniowski on iTunes if you liked the score. This score was written for a very good friend of mine. I tried listening to only the score to create this but ended up watching the film, too. It was a good thing because the visuals created with the music made this suite that much easier to arrange. There are a total of 16 tracks on the soundtrack and I only used music from 8 of them. In all honesty, I could've used them all but time constraints did not allow. As always, comments are welcome and encouraged.
