backstory:
I thought to myself while in freeplay, has anyone ever uploaded a video to YouTube doing 1,000 of something in Rocket League? I searched & searched but to no avail, so I decided to be the first!
At first I immediately thought of double taps, because they're beautiful but also, not too easy or too hard for me to do 1,000 of.
I decided it was best fit I do splits of 100, therefore it's not boring looking at the same shot and also try to challenge myself being creative with some of the shots, as well as, do 100 per day.
After planning, first day i started going for the first 100 and once it was recorded it was time to trim & cut, this by far was the most time demanding part about this video; it would take as little as 30 minutes to complete the first 100 double taps, but the editing took nearly 3 hours!
I wasn't sure if I was going to continue or not by that point, but I didn't want to abandon the idea because I had passion towards it, and also I had barely done 10% of the project by then, so I decided to change a few things, primarily, my editing software and recording method.
First, I went to reddit seeking the best free editing software, which I concluded to be "Shotcut" as it was user-friendly and not high-end PC demanding, which made it stand out from the other ones I read suggestions about. Secondly, I was recording using Nividea GeForce which wasn't the problem, but the way I was doing it, basically I would hit start record and go for the double taps, I would score sometimes 10 in a row and sometimes nothing for a straight minute, which wasn't efficient so I decided instead, record 10 videos of 10 shots each accomulating 100, this way if one video was too long I would just delete it and make another.
In the end, I managed to save so much time, from 30 minutes recording to as low as 7 minutes, and editing from 3 hours to 20-30 minutes!
Because of this I got encouraged and started doing 300 double taps and edit them all in a single day which was so much better than 100 in a day, and next thing you know I was done in 3 days!
Fun facts about this video:
-every 100 double taps are unique.
-every 100 double tap is in a different map.
-every 100th double tap is done with ball cam off!
proof this is 1,000 double taps:
on average every double tap is 4.5 seconds
very simple math
video length ~75 minutes
convert to seconds : 75×60 = 4,500 seconds
next, divide the seconds by double taps:
4,500 ÷ 1000 = 4.5 seconds per double tap
✅
TL;DR:
I put a lot of time and effort in making this video
it would mean the absolute world to me if you could leave a comment, what's on your mind, and why not subscribe as well, like the video or dislike it as you please. Thanks.
