Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Operations

Описание к видео Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Operations

During a two-day visit to the Durango, Colorado area I visited the D&SNG railroad and saw some of their narrow gauge trains in service. On the two days I was here they were running three daily round trips from Durango, and on the first day I rode the second of the three trips to Silverton. For all but one of their daily trips they use Alco and Baldwin K-series steam locomotives. Also on their roster are two ex Tri-Rail F40PHL-2s (rebuilt into F40NG with only parts of the cab preserved), but they have sat in storage for years due to missing parts and generally being unsafe to operate. 1201 was not in plain sight but 1202 was on the east side of the museum building too far away to get any video. D&SNG has some very unique operations that I hope to revisit someday.
