Cuddy Valley Rd in Frazier Park, California ends at a parking lot that is home to Chula Vista Campground and Mount Pinos Nordic Ski Patrol Base. The campground is open year-round as long as the road is open and the fee to park is $5.00 or displaying an annual Adventure Pass. The 8 mile round trip 1,600 foot elevation gain hike starts at this location.


Joining Jake on this hike was my youngest brother Todd and his son Jaron. I have hiked these two peaks a handful of times now, but with them being in town and needing and outdoor adventure, I decided this would be the one. Jaron is still young (5), but he’s full of energy and an active little boy. I knew he’d be able to conquer this hike with no problem.
