It is sometimes argued that service to God is better or knowledge. But in Bhagwad Geeta itself, Lord Krishna says 'This knowledge is the king of all knowledges, the most secret of all secrets. It is the purest knowledge, and because it gives direct perception of the self by realization, it is the perfection of religion. It is everlasting, and it is joyfully performed.'
From time to time this knowledge vanishes from the earth and to re-appear this knowledge Almighty appears. He manifests Himself in every era to establish righteousness.
The purpose of this life is to attain salvation. The Corona period also tells us the uncertainty of this life. The living spiritual master imparts the knowledge to his disciples. Only by his grace, one can attain salvation.
