In this disease food returns back to esophagus from stomach. GER is a transient phenomenon, but GERD can cause severe discomfort. GERD can #affect younger age group between 1-2 years or more than 5 years children. GER in the young age group (1-2 years) is manifested as food coming out of the mouth after 5–10 minutes, and it is considered normal. On the contrary, in GERD, the #feed thrown out by a child can vary in quantity, frequency on a day-to-day basis. Children with GERD are unhappy, often anxious, shows arching pose and all kinds of discomfort. These children will have problems sleeping and being cranky most of the times. By taking the history of the child and performing few simple tests, we can identify that the child has GER or GERD.
