Sihui is a county-level city under the administration of Zhaoqing City in Guangdong Province, People's Republic of China, located in the central-western part of Guangdong and on the northwestern edge of the Pearl River Delta. The name "Sihui" means "four rivers meeting," referring to the confluence of the Xijiang, Beijiang, Suijiang, and Longjiang rivers within its territory. Its geographical location is strategic, bordering Sanshui District of Foshan to the east, Dinghu District of Zhaoqing to the south, Gaoyao District to the southwest, Guangning County to the northwest, and Qingxin District of Qingyuan to the northeast, making it a crucial transportation hub connecting the Pearl River Delta with western and northwestern Guangdong. Sihui has a long history, dating back to the Qin Dynasty when it was part of Guilin Commandery, making it one of the earliest established counties in the Lingnan region. During the Han Dynasty, it was part of the Nanyue Kingdom. Despite numerous changes in its administrative divisions throughout history, its status as a significant regional town has remained constant. The economy of Sihui is supported by pillar industries such as jade processing and trade, metal products, electronic information, and citrus cultivation. Notably, Sihui is one of the largest jade processing and distribution centers in China, earning it the title "Hometown of Chinese Jade Ware." Its jade market attracts numerous merchants from both home and abroad. Furthermore, Sihui is also the renowned "Hometown of Chinese Mandarin Oranges," famous for high-quality fruits like the Shatang mandarin. In terms of culture, Sihui possesses a rich historical and cultural heritage, such as the Liu Zu Temple (Sixth Patriarch Temple), originally built in the Tang Dynasty to commemorate Huineng, the Sixth Patriarch of Zen Buddhism, which enjoys a high reputation both domestically and internationally.
