This chapter explains the three states of matter: solids, liquids, and gases — one of the most important basic concepts in Science. It helps children understand how things around them exist, behave, and change their state.

🌟 Detailed concepts covered:
✅ What is Matter?

Everything around us is matter. Matter has mass and occupies space.


✅ States of Matter:

Solids: They have a fixed shape and volume. Example: book, chair, stone.

Liquids: They have a fixed volume but take the shape of the container. Example: water, milk, juice.

Gases: They have neither a fixed shape nor a fixed volume. They spread out in all directions. Example: air, steam, helium.


✅ Properties of Solids, Liquids & Gases:

Solids are hard and rigid.

Liquids can flow and be poured.

Gases are invisible and can be compressed.


✅ Examples in daily life:

Ice (solid) melts into water (liquid) and turns into water vapor (gas).

How boiling, freezing, melting, and condensation change states of matter.


✅ Simple Activities & Experiments:

Observe water boiling.

See ice melting.

Blow air into a balloon to understand gases.

Understanding these states helps children connect science to real life.
