The power lift gate is a great feature on Subaru Outbacks and Foresters but what if you don't want it to open all the way? The good news is that there is a way to program your rear lift gate to open to a lower height than normal, and it's as easy as a few button clicks.

This video will show you how to program the memory height of your rear lift gate so that it doesn't hit things that you have on the roof of your car (like paddleboards or a canoe) or so that you can open the tailgate in a low-ceiling garage.

**Note** The Subaru ignition has to be off in order to set a rear gate memory height
