True Greatness
In this passage, Jesus teaches His disciples about humility and the true nature of greatness. After predicting His suffering and death, the disciples argue about who among them is the greatest, revealing their misunderstanding of His mission. In response, Jesus brings a child into their midst, illustrating that welcoming a child is akin to welcoming Him. This profound gesture shows that greatness in the Kingdom of God is not determined by power or status, but by humility, simplicity, and service.
Jesus’ actions invite us to examine our own ambitions and how we seek validation. It challenges societal values that equate success with dominance, encouraging us to embrace a spirit of service.
