Bedmi is a favourite breakfast dish widely eaten in North India and Rajasthan. Urad daal piththi is stuffed in dough balls, rolled out flat (into round sheets) and fried in oil to make tasty, puffy bedmi pooris/kachoris.

In this video we will prepare its masala which can be easily used whenever we need it. It will save both our time and energy.

Tips:
Grind the daal/spices coarse.
Sore in freezer in an airtight container.
Do not not use wet spoon while taking out the masala from said container.
You can add more spices to adjust to your taste.
Knead atta/dough an hour before frying, using lukewarm water.
200 grams piththi masala is sufficient for 500 grams of wheat flour mixed with 200 grams of suji/semolina.
We can also use chana daal or moong daal instead of urad daal.

Ingredients:
Urad daal: 200 grams
Zeera/Cumin seeds: 3 tbsp
Red chillies: 4 or 5 sticks
Coriander seeds: 2 tbsp
Saunf/Fennel seeds: 2 tbsp
Hing: 1 tbsp
Salt: to taste
