In this video I show you how to remove completely in a full tutorial the airbag and steering wheel from a Toyota vehicle, the vehicle model in this video is a Toyota Landcruiser KDJ 120 prado year 2004.
The spare part replaced is the Toyota 84306-60080 airbag clock spring CABLE SUB-ASSY, SPIRAL Genuine Toyota due to a red light airbag warning light popping on the dashboard. I decided to make this video to show you how to fix the airbag red light problems, however this tutorial also applies for removal and replacement of steering wheel, cruise control switch, airbag, driver airbag, airbag module, horn, indicator lights control switch , wipers controls switch , headlight control switch and refers to spare parts such as but not limited to :
84140-20560, 84140-26140, 84652-60811, 84652-60810, 84652-35521, 89245-33020, 84632-34011, 84633-34010
The steering wheel and airbag removal or replacement also applies to all the Prado models like the 150 series and subsequent. Below the step by step description on how to remove airbag and steering wheel including replacement of airbag clockspring on a Toyota land cruiser :

Remove the side covers of the steering wheel with a small screwdriver
Unscrew the airbag screws with a Torx T30 bit
there are two on both sides
remove the earth plug
Carefully loosen the plugs with two small screwdrivers
lift the rear tab with a flat screwdriver
remove the upper pin in order to be able to remove the steering wheel
mark with a permanent marker the position of the steering wheel
use a 19 mm socket spanner with extension
unscrew anticlockwise while holding the steering wheel with your leg
or get help and lubricate the nut with WD40 or svitol
Slowly remove the steering wheel, paying attention to the wires
Remove the three screws holding the rear plastics
Remove the steering column plastics by lowering the steering wheel
Remove the connections as shown
Using a small screwdriver and index finger, push out the clip
This procedure also allows the replacement of the controls of
headlight, indicator, windscreen washer, cruise control etc.. Positioned
on the sides of the steering wheel
Do a thorough cleaning with wet wipes
Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the 4 screws of the airbag clockspring
Tighten the 4 screws to secure the new part
Reconnect the connectors in order as shown
and push slowly until you hear the click of the coupling
IMPORTANT : CHECK THAT THE RELAY IS IN THE CORRECT POSITION
CORRECT POSITION BY SHOWING AN ORANGE BALL
WHEN THE GUIDE ARROWS ARE ALIGNED
Extend and lower the steering column to reassemble
The plastics on the rear steering wheel
Match all the various inserts and tabs as shown
Tighten the 3 star-shaped screws
Loosen the orange retainer with a small screwdriver
As shown in the video (replaced part)
Reposition the steering wheel without removing the retainer yet
Remove the orange retainer and centre the steering wheel
Reconnect the upper plug and check alignment
before tightening the steering wheel
Reconnect the airbag by pushing the connectors until they click
Push in the safety pin as shown
Check wire position as per removed component
Connect the cable and reinsert the airbag without crushing the wires
Tighten the airbag screws
Check that everything is securely remounted
Reinsert the side covers
