Shenandoah River State Park, the Goat Incident, and What’s Cabin Camping?
Shenandoah River State Park is a real nice place for all kinds of outdoor fun. Located on the South Fork of the Shenandoah River in Warren County, Virginia, Shenandoah River State Park is about 8 miles south of Front Royal Virginia, and 15 miles north of Luray. It's off Rt. 340 in Bentonville. This Virginia State Park offers 1600 acres of outdoor recreation along the historic Shenandoah River. There’s about 5 miles of access to the shore, scenic views of Massanutten Mountain, and Shenandoah National Park. The park opened in June 1999, so it’s kind of new. It has a large riverside picnic area, picnic shelters, trails, river access and a car-top boat launch. In the late Spring, Summer, and Fall, this is a happening place for families, anglers, and canoeists. But we weren’t actually there in the best time of year to say the least. It was cold! In this video, we’re stopping by Shenandoah River State Park for the first time, and making a quick trip to Shenandoah National Park. Very quick, most of the Skyline was closed. But we also mention the Goat Incident. You’ll have to watch the video for more about that. Have you ever heard of Cabin Camping? It’s a thing. I get it, and yet, I don’t.
