Hey everyone! Welcome back to the channel. Today, we're doing something a little different—staying in and learning how to silk press natural hair right at home. If you're aiming for that smooth, shiny finish, you’re in the right place. Let’s dive into the products and steps you’ll need to achieve a fabulous silk press!

Step 1: Detangle

First things first, let’s start with detangling. Make sure your hair is damp to make this process easier. Use a wide-tooth comb or a detangling brush to gently remove any knots or tangles.

Step 2: Wash

Next up, we’re going to wash our hair. I’m using Donna’s Recipe and Chi Infra Shampoo and Conditioner. Donna’s Recipe is great for nourishing and hydrating your hair, while Chi Infra helps to strengthen and protect. Make sure to lather, rinse, and condition thoroughly to get your hair clean and prepped for the blow-dry.

Step 3: Blow Dry

Once your hair is washed and conditioned, it’s time to blow dry. I’m using the Silver Bird Conair Pro blow dryer. Start by sectioning your hair to ensure an even dry. Use a paddle brush or a round brush to smooth out your hair as you dry. This step is crucial for getting that sleek look before you flat iron.

Step 4: Flat Iron

Now onto the flat ironing! I’m using the BabyBliss Pro for this step. Before we start flat ironing, it’s important to protect our hair from heat. I’m applying Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine along with It’s a 10 heat protectant. These products will help keep your hair smooth and prevent any damage from the heat.

Section your hair and slowly glide the flat iron through each section, making sure not to go over the same section too many times to avoid damage. Keep the iron moving to ensure an even, smooth finish.

And that’s it! You’ve just completed a silk press at home. Look at that shine! Remember, the key to a great silk press is in the prep and the products you use.
