Today, not only India but the whole world is witnessing the ancient eternal tradition, said the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha. Ma Sharda Peeth inauguration by establishing the prestigious idol is getting reinstalled in Teetwal, Kupwara, Jammu and Kashmir. The prana pratishtha ceremony of Sharda murti at the temple at Teetwal, near the LOC in district Kupwara, Kashmir was done by Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Vidhushekhara Bharati Mahaswamiji of Dakshinamnaya Sri Sharada Peetham, Sringeri.
We had come in the year 2021 for the annual yatra. The locals showed us the sacred place of Ma Sharda they had preserved in these past years. The Army also said to reinstall the temple here. So we accepted the challenge. We made a local construction committee in which three Muslim locals are there and one is a Sikh and five Hindus are there, said Ravinder Pandita, Member, Save Sharda Committee. So nine members constitute this committee which has built temples and Gurudwaras with its funds. The government helped with the approach road, water, electricity and all the facilities and we are grateful. But mainly it was a civil society initiative. Meaning no government funds were involved in its construction. But we request the government to build a mini university. There is no Sharda University in Jammu and Kashmir. We request the University Grants Commission for a Sharda University here because Sharda has a historical perspective, it is a legacy here. The LG government should grant land for Sharda University. The present administration in the last three years has been making progress because of which the atmosphere has changed here that is why we are seeing these projects.
Sikh elderly recalled how seventy-five years ago there used to be a temple here and a lot of activity. We are fortunate that again we are seeing that view.
Acharya ji has come here after 700 years. After 1947 this is the first time that puja is happening in the temple.
The prana-pratishtha of Ma Sharda;s murti in Kashmir by the Shankaracharya of the Shringeri matha reinforces India's religious and cultural Integration from Kashmir to Kanyakumari.
People have come from all over India including Hindus and Pandits. The whole village is celebrating. The event will increase border tourism and religious tourism. The Teetwal village will progress and brotherhood will increase. All of us Hindus, Muslims and Sikhs will unite so that discrimination can end, locals said.
