The Footjoy Pro SL golf shoe, this shoe literally was a game changer for Footjoy.

Two years ago they then added a Carbon version which costs an extra £30 at retail. So the question is.

- What is the difference and is it worth the extra bit.

Before trying this shoe, I simply thought the difference would be that some carbon is in the shoe which is a more expensive material therefore making the shoe more expensive….. I was wrong!

You look at both shoes and they look the same side on apart from the eyelet. The outsole where the strato foam is on the Pro SL has been replaced with the firmer carbon to give stability as opposed to comfort.

However this comfort returns around the ankle this is so soft and moulds to your ankle as opposed to the firmer leather on the Pro SL. Inside the Carbon we have this Orthlite impressions fit bed, once again this is so soft to give the ultimate in comfort your feet almost mould to it.

Therefore you loose a little with the outsole but you gain so much more inside the shoe and around the ankle.

Like the standard Pro SL the 2022 carbon is nice and clean, around the back of the shoe is also Carbon which compliments ankle mould nicely. On the back it simply says Carbon so your golfing buddies know what you are wearing!

For both the standard and the carbon they do come up slightly big for me. I am normally a size UK 10 in everything however like with many Footjoys I am half a size smaller. Therefore I would go half a size smaller than standard shoes or trainers.

As always Footjoy ProSL are my shoe of choice, and after seeing the extra comfort given by the Carbon, for me it is certainly worth the extra £30!
