Te lo llevaste todo, el poncho y la guitarra, el verso y la palabra, la danza y la canción, habrá que ver la fiesta del cielo que ahora pisas, rodeada de tus incas que ansiaban oír tu voz…aquí se marchitaron las rosas de tu pelo, aquí ya no hay aroma, se lo llevó tu adiós, que el cielo nos devuelva a Chabuca enamorada, del puente y la alameda del río y de la flor…déjame que te cante Chabuca Limeña, con versos de tu alma, con soles de tu tierra, déjame que te diga Chabuca Limeña, que se quedó llorando la flor de la canela…
Así reza la extraordinaria letra de Manuel Alejandro, compuesta horas después de enterarse del fallecimiento en Miami, Florida, de su entrañable amiga, cómplice y compañera de inolvidables noches de bohemia, tanto en Lima como en Madrid, la insuperable Chabuca Granda. Difícil por no decir imposible, el haber resumido tan bien ese torbellino de sentimientos encontrados, para dos almas gemelas unidas por una creatividad sinigual con reconocimiento mundial, muy especialmente, en el mundo de habla hispana.
Pero había otra alma gemela que la reclamaba y ese era Nicky Alzamora, quien de su autoría y con la armoniosa voz de Rosa Guzmán, nos regala un vals dedicado a su memoria, “Quiero Cantarte…Señora Chabuca”  (track n° 15), una confesión personal a su amiga y compañera de infancia. 
No corresponde escribir ahora sobre la biografía de la gran Chabuca Granda, lo que sí corresponde es escuchar el mejor homenaje musical que se haya hecho para honrar su nombre y su legado musical a Iberoamérica. Destaca la participación de sus más entrañables artistas y admiradores: Eva Ayllón, Lucha Reyes, Edith Barr, Fernando Ubiergo, el gran Raphael, Lucho González, Julie Freundt, Rafael Matallana, Rubén Flórez, por citar solo algunos.

So reads the extraordinary lyrics of Manuel Alejandro, made hours after learning of the death in Miami, Florida, of his close friend, partner and companion of unforgettable bohemia nights, in both Lima and Madrid, the unsurpassed Chabuca Granda. Difficult if not impossible, to have summed up so well that whirlwind of mixed emotions for two soul mates together by an unsurpassed creativity recognized worldwide, especially in the Spanish speaking world. For now, it is not the time to write about the biography of the great Chabuca Granda, but to hear the best musical tribute that has been done to honor her name and musical legacy to Latin America.
