On Aug. 6, 1946, Dr. Horst Pelckmann, counsel for the Defense of the SS, called SS Oberfuerhrer Guenther Reinecke, Chief Judge of the Supreme SS and Police Court. He testified that the General SS was a formation of the Nazi Party with 70% of the members entering military service. He testified regarding the Waffen SS as a self contained independent organization. He also described the Higher SS and Police Leaders.
