December 28, 2022. A Southwest Airlines Boeing 737-800 departs from Chicago, IL bound for Phoenix, AZ. As the aircraft climbs, the crew attempts to retract the flaps, but they don’t respond. After attempting to troubleshoot the issue, the crew declares an emergency and elects to discontinue their flight and divert to Milwaukee, then Chicago O’Hare, then Milwaukee again.
