About this video: This video is a complete guide on how to dedicate more RAM to a Minecraft modpack using CurseForge. We show you how to allocate more RAM to a Minecraft modpack on CurseForge no matter what modpack you will use. CurseForge has the exact same process for adding more RAM to a modpack from every modpack from Roguelike Dungeons and Adventures to SkyFactory and any other CurseForge modpack, RAM is added the exact same way, so let’s jump right on into it!

First things first, you will need to download and install CurseForge. There is a complete guide on installing CurseForge in the description above. It covers absolutely everything you need to know about getting CurseForge setup and getting modpacks installed using it.

Once you have CurseForge downloaded and modpacks installed, you will have a “Settings” cog wheel in the bottom left of the CurseForge App. Click this to open your CurseForge settings.

At the bottom of the left-hand sidebar on the settings tab, you will see “Game Specific” settings, and under that, you will see “Minecraft”. Click on Minecraft to open up your specific settings for Minecraft in CurseForge.

On this page, scroll down to “Java Settings”. Under this, you will see an “Allocated Memory” section with a slider under it. This is where you can set the RAM you have dedicated to CurseForge modpacks.

How much RAM you should add to a Minecraft modpack really depends on the amount of RAM you have on your computer. Most modpacks require between 6GB to 10GB or RAM dedicated to them. However, generally, you shouldn’t dedicate more than half your RAM to Minecraft.

The RAM you are adding in CurseForge is in megabytes though. So that would be 6,000MB to 10,000MB roughly would be selected in the slider.

After you have selected how much RAM you want to add to your CurseForge modpacks, it will save automatically. Now, you can launch Minecraft like you normally would using the modpack in CurseForge.

You can check the amount of RAM you have in-game by look in the top-right when opening the F3 menu in Minecraft.

With that being said, you now know exactly how to allocate more RAM to Minecraft modpacks in CurseForge. If you have any questions about how to add more RAM to CurseForge modpacks, let us know in the comments. We will try our best to help you out.

Otherwise, if we did help you dedicate more RAM to Minecraft modpacks, please give this video a thumbs up and subscribe to the channel if you haven’t already. Thanks in advance!
